Park Towers

The owner is abroad for much of the year, so the home had to suit an international, slightly transitional way of living, easy to come back to and easy to leave. The one thread that anchored everything was a love of travel, and of Paris in particular, so we took the Eiffel Tower as the quiet theme running through this interior design rather than as a literal motif.

The ceilings here sit a touch lower than many Hong Kong flats, so instead of fighting that we worked with shorter fittings. The lights are angled towards the walls so their reflection reads almost like stage lighting, the same glow that lifts the tower after dark. A feature wall in the living room picks up the idea in charcoal industrial blacks and greys, a wallpaper with a metallic, marble-like depth, and diagonal geometric lines that echo the tower's frame.

The Eiffel theme carries through into the master bedroom, where a matching decorative piece sits above the bed, and on into the en-suite, with slants and diagonals built into the walls and cabinets. We kept both the kitchen and the bathroom open-plan, and set the bathroom mirror to face the view, so the room reads twice its size and the bedroom feels that much more generous.
