Larvotto

The owners love to travel, and the view from the flat looks straight onto the harbour, so we took both as the brief and threaded warm, sunlit colour through the rooms as accents. The aim was a small daily holiday: step inside, and the south side of Hong Kong Island starts to feel like the south of Spain.

The strongest moments are in the tiling. In the master bathroom a patterned feature wall sits opposite the basin, with the same tiling glimpsed again in the mirror and a panel of coloured grid glass alongside, so the whole composition reads richer than any single surface. Out by the breakfast nook and kitchen we switched to calmer blue and earth-toned tiles that pick up the green hillside just outside the window, tying the indoors to the landscape.

An open layout lets the spaces flow, and folding glass doors off the kitchen and master bedroom open onto an outdoor patio, so the family's beloved dogs have room to run between inside and out. The joinery was custom-made for the flat by our trusted partner factory. It is residential interior design with a sense of somewhere else: a bright, well-travelled home on the south side that knows exactly where it is looking.
