Imperial Kennedy

Imperial Kennedy is an interior design project completed by Artwill Interior Design House in 2018, located in Hong Kong Island, a 896 sq. ft. unit handled by Regina Kwok and the design team across Interior Design & Build.

An 896-square-foot flat at Imperial Kennedy in Kennedy Town on Hong Kong Island, an open-plan interior design and build for a couple and their two cats, planned around a sweeping sea view.

From the moment you step in, the sea view is the point of this flat, so the whole layout was re-planned around it. The owners are a couple living with two cats, and the aim was a home that feels open and works hard in a smaller footprint, comfortable for every occupant, the cats included.

To open the living space right up, we took down every partition wall but two. That lets far more daylight in and stretches the sea view across the room. The living areas are kept light, with timber running across the floor, the walls, and even the ceiling to keep the mood bright and easy. The bedroom does the opposite on purpose: darker woods, touched with rose gold and metal, settle it into a quiet, restful retreat.

For the way they actually live, we worked in a dedicated work space and turned the second bedroom into a comfortable den for the cats. The joinery throughout was custom-made for the flat by our trusted partner factory, fitted tightly so an 896-square-foot home never feels short on storage. It is smart, warm residential interior design for a small flat: an open-plan Kennedy Town home built around the view, and around everyone who lives in it.
