Step through the entrance and a tall, arched doorway comes into view; its symmetry, deep brown tones and the black-and-white marble underfoot set up a quietly luxurious mood and the home's modern, fashionable tone.

For Artwill founder Regina Kwok, the studio's most important and practical task is satisfying the client through design. This client was a family who had lived abroad and wanted a space that worked for both adults and children.

The designer made the most of the unit's high ceilings, carving out a lounge zone to one side of the living room; up a level sits a mini loft, a private space that belongs to every family member at once.

The home carries a dark timber tone throughout, but Regina gives each space its own character, satisfying the family's varied needs while keeping the style unified.
