The Grand Panorama

At The Grand Panorama on Hong Kong Island, Artwill wrapped a calm, dark-toned home around one extraordinary asset: a full-width window onto the harbour and skyline.

Designed by Regina Kwok and the Artwill team

The Grand Panorama

The living room is built to frame that view. A floor-to-ceiling picture window runs the length of the wall, dressed with sheer dark-charcoal drapes that filter the light without ever competing with it. Below the glass we set a deep window ledge that doubles as a display shelf, and we anchored the seating in a generous chocolate-brown leather sectional so the eye always travels outward, toward the city and the water. The flooring is large-format grey porcelain tile, cool and continuous, which keeps the room grounded while the sky does the talking.

Opposite the sofa is the piece we are proudest of: a stepped feature wall finished in fine, dark linear stone tile, rising in a staircase profile behind a wall-hung television and a slim black media console. We threaded warm LED cove lighting along the dropped ceiling and beneath the cabinetry, so the whole back wall glows amber at night and the dark stone reads soft rather than heavy. Recessed downlights pick out the texture of the stone, and the contrast of black joinery against off-white walls gives the interior design its quiet, hotel-like confidence.

The dining area carries the same warm-and-dark language but turns it sculptural. A thick glass tabletop floats on legs of twisted natural timber, paired with solid hardwood chairs, and overhead a crystal-and-chrome chandelier brings a little glamour against the pale plaster wall. Slim up-down wall sconces wash the surface in pools of light, and a textured stone partition screens the entry hall while letting that golden cove light spill through. If you would like a home on Hong Kong Island shaped this thoughtfully around its view, we would love to hear from you.
