Peak One
Joy is in the air – The theme of design is all about the children’s needs. The design has to strike a right balance between the parental doting, practicability and aesthetics and at the same time shows the pure parental love.
Love starts from the living room. The room next to the living room is transformed into a playful game room for the children by taking down all the partition walls in the room. A trendy shelving unit, a sofa and a sliding door with patterns of birds are now arranged in the living room as the room divider. The designer also makes good use of white space and natural materials to define different areas so as to create an unobstructed view in the room.
The set-up of the study room is re-designed. The room and the en suite bathroom next to the master bedroom were removed. And the corridor wall has been replaced by a piano and some storage units. It is to improve the practicability and flexibility. An L-shaped display cupboard with shine-through lighting is placed in the rear part of the writing desk. Inside the cupboard are the favorite toys and figures of the owners and the kids. It is like the family’s treasure trove. Not only is it a practical design, but also an interesting existence at the workspace. When the parents feel tired after work, they could play with their collection to evoke their happy childhood memories.
The design finishes off with where it all starts, the living room, extending the aesthetic appeal. Different colors are used to complement the dining room. The room is painted with a gradient color of white and khaki to add warmth to it. The living room, dining room, and the entrance are visually identified with the use of the three color palettes.
