How do you turn a disadvantage into an asset? Every home has its flaws – in renovating this home, the designer found innovative ways to hide such flaws and even turn it into key features to meet the owners’ needs for entertaining.

To avoid the direct gaze of the neighbors, the atypical placement of the TV in front of the window allows further privacy. The addition of a sliding partition allows the space to transform into an in-home theater when closed.

To house the owners’ sound system, cords and lines are well hidden and the equipment was chosen to match the wooden features of the walls.

To create an open kitchen, a wall was dismantled for the space. But while renovating, they found a pillar within the wall that must stay. To lessen the interruption to the space, the designer creatively uses the pillar to support the marble dining table, allowing it to float without legs.
