Size : 1,306 sq. ft.
Location: Hong Kong Island
Our Role : Interior Design & Build

The concept of the design is inspired by the appearance of the building. Many aspects of the flat sport a curvy and streamlined design, from the finishing to the selection of the furniture, including cupboard doors, wall ornaments, dropped ceiling, bookshelves, lighting, batten screens, etc. These lines criss-cross each other and reinforce the multi-dimensional feeling in the room, making it stand out from conventional linear designs.

The flat is colored with different shades of blue and decorated with furniture of different shapes, matching the curvy design theme.

A half-height cupboard is suspended in the dining room, and the recessed lighting installed at the bottom creates a feeling of lightness. The backdrop of the cupboard is a wavy wall, and when the surrounding spotlights are turned on, this area becomes the flat’s focal point.

The design team at Artwill had a partition wall removed from the original layout, thus creating an open-plan study. To differentiate this study from the adjacent living space, a raised marble floor is installed. The resulting L-shaped living area takes full advantage of the full-height windows, allowing the flat to better access the views and light from the outside. The design team chooses a rotating TV stand, allowing it to be seen from both the study and the living/dining rooms and thus increasing the flexibility in usage. The stand also serves as a partition wall, improving the privacy of the study.
