Wilshire Tower
Wilshire Tower is an interior design project completed by Artwill Interior Design House in 2015, located in Hong Kong Island, a 2277 sq. ft. unit handled by Regina Kwok and the design team across Interior Design & Build.
A 2,277-square-foot home at Wilshire Tower in Braemar Hill on Hong Kong Island, designed for three generations living comfortably under one roof.
With three generations sharing the flat, the whole of this interior design came down to one thing: meeting everyone's needs and making the shared areas work for all of them. We started in the kitchen, where the son likes to cook. A kitchen island with sockets hidden under the countertop lets him do his thing without getting in the way of his mother's routine, so the two can share the space and end up talking more. The L-shaped engineered stone counter pairs with grey powder-coated cabinets, warmed up with touches of wood.
The bedrooms were reworked around how the family actually lives now. The L-shaped master bedroom was rearranged to suit the new layout. One son has a calm but lively streak, and it comes through naturally in his room through an irregular writing desk and a clean black-and-white scheme. Another son's room, awkwardly shaped before, was squared into a proper rectangle for more usable work space, with two tailor-made beds set back-to-back and a shelving unit between them that works both as two-way storage and as a divider.
Storage runs quietly through the public rooms. The TV wall is dressed in marble, and the wall cabinets carry on from the entrance right round to the sofa, so seamlessly that even a room door disappears among them. Behind the sofa we mounted practical black steel shelves onto the cabinets, equal parts useful and good to look at.
The two can share the kitchen and end up talking more.
