Both the husband and wife in this home highly valued their independent space.
So we created two separate studies in addition to their bedroom. For the husband’s study, we put in a lot of storage and display space as he collected plastic toy models; for the wife’s study, we put in a comfortable lounge chair for her to sit and read.
The owners had existing furniture that they wanted to use from their previous home.
We carefully planned according to the dimensions of their furniture. For example, after planning in their sofa in the living room, we tailor-designed a storage/shelving unit to fit into the remaining wall space. The resulting design was a seamless amalgamation between the old and the new.
The apartment was located on a low floor of the building so did not have a lot of natural light.
White was the obvious choice of colour – almost all the walls, floors and furnishings were white or off-white. In addition, we put in ample lighting, including recessed and accent lighting, giving the owners maximum control in adjusting the interior brightness.
