The owner was building a satellite home in Hong Kong as he came often for business trips. There were also weekends when the owner’s family would join him in Hong Kong.
We kept the two bedrooms in the original layout, but made the design and furnishing of the second bedroom versatile. All the basics of a home were put in, but since little storage space was needed, we had more room than usual to install interesting furnishings.
A simple and cosmopolitan design style was what the owner wanted to capture from his frequent stays in hotels.
Clean lines, well-designed ergonomics and a few accessories were key to the solution. Colours were chosen for their comforting and welcoming effect.
The owner had an extremely busy schedule but wanted the project to move at normal pace.
We ended only meeting up with the owner fewer than ten times throughout the whole project – from design conception to construction and completion. We relied heavily on email to communicate, with the selection of almost all finishings and accessories done through online photo albums we compiled.
