Southern District

The owners of this 1,000 square-feet unit in the Southern District of Hong Kong are a young couple who are partial to a fashionable aesthetic. In order to create an elegant home to suit their tastes, we used modern glamour as the main theme, combining this with dark grey elements as well as marble and wood embellishments to create a fashion forward yet layered atmosphere.

The dining room utilises black, white, brown, and grey as the main hues, with coppery tones as well as a sliding door combined with four glass elements for separation: this includes art glass, frosted glass, wired glass, that when natural light penetrates through, the rich textures are highlighted. Separated by a television wall, the living room and dining space is enhanced as well as maximised in available storage area. Grey-blue wallpaper patterned with abstract patterns and marble textures of different shades subtly run through the living spaces, continuing the design theme. At the same time, we installed a curved ceiling to decorate the beams in the living room. With the effect of the light, fresh contemporary style breathes through the whole abode.

In view of the homeowners desire to have a spacious wardrobe, we divided part of the dining room space to meet the couple’s requirements, choosing crocodile leather to decorate the cabinet doors of the cloakroom, while utilising grey-green leather, marble with wood and silk textures in the master room. The chosen wallpaper in this space also highlights an elegant yet intellectual atmosphere.
